TRENTON, NJ — During the weekend of March 7–8, 2026, St. Vladimir Orthodox Church in Trenton, NJ, was blessed with the visitation of the Hawaiian Iveron Myrrh-Streaming Icon of the Most Holy Theotokos. The faithful gathered in large numbers to venerate the holy icon and be anointed with the fragrant myrrh that flows from it.
More than 400 clergy and faithful from across the region came to participate in this spiritually uplifting event. The presence of the wonderworking icon provided a moment of grace and consolation for the parish community, drawing many to prayer and reflection.
During the visit, the Akathist to the Iveron Icon of the Most Holy Theotokos was prayerfully chanted as the faithful offered their petitions and thanksgiving to the Mother of God. Among the hymns sung were the words:
“Rejoice, O Gate of the Lord through which the faithful enter into salvation;
Rejoice, O protection and refuge of all who run to thee with faith.”
The parish extends its heartfelt gratitude to Fr. Nectarios, the keeper of the icon, for bringing this sacred blessing to the community and allowing the faithful to experience the grace associated with this beloved icon of the Theotokos.
The visitation served as a powerful reminder of the intercessory love of the Mother of God and the living presence of the Orthodox faith in the lives of the faithful. Parishioners and visitors alike departed strengthened in prayer and devotion, asking the Most Holy Theotokos to continue to watch over and bless them.
