On Sunday, 26 August 2012, Saint John the Baptist Church in Rochester NY blessed the vineyards, vines, grapes, wine presses, barrels, and new wine at Deer Run Winery at nearby Geneseo NY. “Our gracious hosts and vintners were George, Joan and Scott Kuyon,” said Father Ken James Stavrevsky (parish rector). “In addition to a wide variety of fine New York State wines of the Finger Lakes Region, we are blessed to use wine grown, harvested, and lovingly fermented here for our Eucharistic celebrations.” This marked the eighth consecutive year of the annual blessing at Deer Run Winery which included a wine-tasting and fellowship meal for parishioners and friends.
