Bishop Michael joined Father Igor Burdikoff and members of Christ the Savior Orthodox Christian Church in Ballston Lake NY on Sunday, 29 September, to mark the 25th anniversary of the church's founding.
Parish children greeted His Grace with flowers and special cards they had made. A Hierarchical Divine Liturgy followed, along with a procession outdoors to bless the prayer garden and newly-constructed bell tower.
At the conclusion of the liturgy, Father Igor and senior members of the church (Julie Amodeo, Joseph Burch, Kathryn Cassimeris, Florence Cruz and Dora Daley) were recognized for their contributions to the parish as Bishop Michael presented each with a beautiful certificate of appreciation.
A luncheon followed the liturgical celebrations. A large hand-crafted quilt signed by all the members of the parish was presented to Father Igor.
