It was a glorious weekend, 8-9 October 2016, at Saint John the Baptist Orthodox Church in Alpha NJ as the parish celebrated their 100th Anniversary. The joy of the occasion was enriched by the presence of His Beatitude, Metropolitan Tikhon (Orthodox Church in America) and His Eminence, Archbishop Michael. The celebration began on Saturday with Vespers and Litya. On Sunday, Metropolitan Tikhon was welcomed and greeted for the liturgical celebrations and celebratory festivities by Father Bohdan Ostash (parish rector), visiting clergy, faithful, and friends of the parish.

Many guests and visitors from neighboring churches joined following the celebratory Hierarchical Divine Liturgy on Sunday. Visiting clergy, members of the parish, and visitors joined together for the liturgical services to give thanks to God for a century of blessings bestowed on the parish community. A festive banquet took place at Almond Tree Manor restaurant in Alpha NJ.
