ARCHPASTORAL VISITATION TO JACKSON NJ

On the weekend of November 16th and 17th, the Parish of the Nativity of the Virgin, located in Jackson, NJ was blessed to have His Eminence Archbishop Michael join the faithful for our annual Pastoral visitation. The weekend began on Saturday evening with Vespers served by our Rector, Archpriest John Prokopiuk, Protodeacon John Suchernick, and Deacon Stephan Karlgut. After Vespers, everyone enjoyed a beautiful dinner in the Parish Home prepared by the Sisterhood of the Parish.
On Sunday, November 17th, His Eminence Archbishop Michael was greeted with the traditional offering of bread and salt by Parish Council President Protodeacon John Morvay, the Hand Cross by the Rector of the parish Archpriest John Propkopiuk before entering the church for the Hierarchical Liturgy. Serving with His Eminence Archbishop Michael were the Rector of the Parish, Very Reverend Archpriest Father John Prokopiuk, Protodeacon John Morvay, Protodeacon John Suchernick, Deacon Stephan Karlgut, Subdeacon Mark Federoff, Subdeacon Matthew Ortiz and Altar Servers Michael Tabliashvili, and Alexander Drobish. During the Little Entrance of the Hierarchical Liturgy, His Eminence the Most Reverend Archbishop Michael awarded Protodeacon John Suchernick the Kamilavka, for his dedicated service to the Orthodox Church of America. Responses to the Hierarchical Liturgy were led and directed by choir director Reader Daniel Drobish. A festive luncheon was held in the parish home after the Hierarchical Liturgy prepared by the Parish Sisterhood led by Matushka Ludmila Prokopiuk. Even though the sun wasn’t shining down on the town of Jackson we were blessed to celebrate this occasion with our beloved Archbishop Michael, beloved Matushki, family, friends, and beloved faithful of our Parish.
