HAPPY 80TH BIRTHDAY TO OUR DIOCESAN CHANCELLOR, MITRED ARCHPRIEST JOSEPH LICKWAR
Very Reverend, Reverend and Dear Fathers;
Beloved in the Lord:
Today -- December 23 -- marks the 80th Birthday of our beloved Chancellor, the Very Reverend Mitred Archpriest Joseph Lickwar, the Rector of Saints Peter and Paul Church in Jersey City, New Jersey.
Father Joseph has served as the Chancellor of the Diocese of New York and New Jersey, under three hierarchs: Metropolitan Herman, Metropolitan Jonah and Archbishop Michael.
He has distinguished himself as "the first priest of the Diocese" by his exemplary hard work and diligence, his faithfulness to the Tradition of the Church and his love of the divine services, his gentleness in helping others and his wise firmness in disciplining when it is needed.
He is truly "a priest's priest" and a loving mentor to the clergy and the faithful of the parishes of our Diocese. We ask that God will continue to bless him, his beloved Matushka Shirley, their children and grandchildren and all of their family, with a prosperous and peaceful life, good health and salvation, visitation and good hastening in all things, and that He will protect and preserve them for many, blessed years! "Mnogaya Lyeta!"
Birthday wishes may be sent to Fr. Joseph at josephlickwar@gmail.com or Fr. Joseph Lickwar, 109 Grand Street, Jersey City, NJ 07302-4428.
