Job Opportunity: Peace of Mind Facilitator
Christ is Risen!

Dear friends of the Assembly of Bishops Mental Health Task Force,

Earlier this year, the Assembly of Bishops unanimously approved a proposal for the Mental Health Task Force to develop a clergy and leadership training program titled Peace of Mind.  Peace of Mind is a composite of a preexisting, clinically-based course (Mental Health First Aid) that is augmented by an original, theologically-based presentation (Orthodox Bridging).  We believe that Peace of Mind is an essential component in our ongoing work of cultivating a culture of mental wellness within our community while also recognizing the fullness of health through the context of Christ and the Orthodox Church.

Peace of Mind aims to enhance the ministry of clergy and parish leadership with the tools to:
  • identify, understand, and respond to mental health crises
  • explore the connection between Orthodox Christian anthropology, pastoral care, and mental health care
  • cultivate ongoing conversations about mental wellness within the parish and greater pan-Orthodox Christian community
To implement Peace of Mind, the Mental Health Task Force needs regional Facilitators who can deliver this program in the form of one-day training events for clergy and ministry leaders across the country.  We are currently searching for 16 well-qualified individuals who can answer this call to serve and advocate for mental health within the Orthodox Christian Church.  We would like to invite you to consider applying yourself and/or encouraging others to apply to this unique opportunity by May 15, 2022.  Details regarding the requirements and responsibilities of this position can be found through the full job description below: https://www.orthodoxjobs.com/postings/2022/peace-facilitator

Thank you for your continued support for the work of the Mental Health Task Force.  Please continue to keep this ministry initiative and its leaders in your prayers!  I encourage you to email me if you have any further questions regarding Peace of Mind or this job opportunity.  Applications should be sent to ministries@assemblyofbishops.org.
