[Jackson, NJ] - The weekend of November 5th and 6th, the Parish of the Nativity of the Holy Virgin, located in Jackson, NJ was blessed to have His Eminence Archbishop Michael join the faithful for our annual Archpastoral visitation. The weekend began on Saturday evening with Vespers served by our Rector, Archpriest John Prokopiuk, Protodeacon John Suchernick and Deacon Stephan Karlgut. After Vespers, everyone enjoyed a dinner at Tommy’s Inn in Millstone.
On Sunday, November 6th, His Eminence Archbishop Michael was greeted with flowers by Father John’s granddaughter Aniela Valentina. Traditional offering of bread and salt by Parish Council Trustee Oleg Yatsuk, the Hand Cross by the Rector of the Parish Archpriest John Prokopiuk before entering the church for the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy. Serving with His Eminence Archbishop Michael were the Rector of the Parish, Very Reverend Archpriest Father John Prokopiuk, Archpriest Samuel Kedala, Hegumen Evtikhy Dovgan, Protodeacon John Suchernick, Protodeacon Stephan Karlgut, Subdeacon Mark Federoff, Subdeacon Zachary Parisi, Altar Servers Oleg Yatsuk, John Federoff, and Ivan Karlgut. Responses to the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy were led by our choir director Tatyana Halitskaya.
Archpriest Father John and Matushka Ludmila were given the Gramota on the occasion of their 45th Wedding Anniversary. Very Reverend Archpriest Father John was given the Gramota honoring the 45th Anniversary of his ordination to the Holy Deaconate. On the occasion of Protodeacon John Morvay’s 30th Anniversary of ordination to the Holy Diaconate, Archbishop Michael presented a Gramota to Protodeacon John Morvay, honoring his faithful service to the Holy Orthodox Church. A festive luncheon was held at Tommy’s Millstone Inn. On this day, Our Lord provided us with a beautiful sunny fall day in the town of Jackson. We were blessed to celebrate this occasion with our beloved Archbishop Michael, beloved Matushki, family, friends, and beloved faithful of our Parish.
