[LANSING, NY] - Archbishop Michael’s visit to the Holy Apostles Mission in Lansing, NY, on the weekend dedicated to St. Mary of Egypt, was a joyful and grace-filled moment in the heart of our Lenten journey. His Eminence was warmly welcomed by several of our children, who greeted him with daffodils, and by our Chief Steward, Paula Tarralo, who presented the traditional offering of bread and salt. Father Joel Brady then welcomed him with the cross.
Following the celebration of Great Vespers, Archbishop Michael met with our catechumens, engaging each one personally. He asked how they had found their way to the Orthodox Church and offered them a chance to ask questions about the faith and their journey ahead.
He also met with the parish council to assess the current state of our mission and to discuss future plans for growth and ministry.
On Sunday, after the celebration of the Divine Liturgy, the community gathered for a festive Lenten meal, continuing our fellowship at a local community center. The entire weekend was a beautiful witness of the unity, hospitality, and hope that continues to define our mission.
