Jewell New York

The 2010 camping program is winding down at Saint Andrew's Camp and Religious Center, Jewell NY, having just finished the third and final week of camp for children ages 7-14.  This year the three weeks were developed around themes: Camping & Ecology, Music-liturgical and fun, and Horse Week.  Each week offered the campers a special line of classes pertaining to the themes.  Along with theme classes, the campers enjoyed a regular schedule of daily services in the chapel, religious education and conversations with visiting clergy, art & crafts, music, skits, sports, indoor and outdoor games, and swimming.

Bishop Michael has been in residence every week of camp.  What a blessing this has been! The campers have spent quite a bit of time with Bishop Michael, as he has held question & answer sessions with the campers in the evenings.  Another nice thing for the campers is they were able to hear sermons and life lessons from the Bishop and visiting clergy each day.

This week, teenagers (age 13-19) will have a special "Teen Week" just for them.  Then, the 2010 camping season comes to an end.

The counselors, volunteers and staff of St. Andrew’s Camp are all special. They each bring their own gifts which help make this camp the wonderfully unique place it is.  It is refuge for some, a retreat for others, and an altogether fun place to spend time each summer.  Please consider joining us, or send us a little person you know who may benefit from this great summer program.  It's not too early to plan for the 2011 camping season!  For more information, http://www.standrewscamp.com/
