On Thursday, November 18, the Hispanic catechumen group met virtually with Deacon Basil Vazquez (Antiochian Archdiocese) as their guest speaker. Father John Morris opened the meeting offering a prayer and introducing Deacon Basil. Deacon Basil then gave thanks to Archbishop Michael and Bishop Anthony (Antiochian Archdiocese) for their blessings to allow him to speak to the group. He gave a wonderful talk in Spanish during which he described his journey to Orthodoxy and the diaconate in the Orthodox Church. All in the group were edified by the conversation and look forward to their next guest speaker in mid-December.

The Hispanic catechumen group is run by Fr. John Morris and catechist Ioannis (Jose) Sanchez. The group offers catechism classes to inquirers and catechumens who speak primarily Spanish.
