Archbishop Visits St. Olympia Mission, Invites Diocesan Faithful to Pilgrimage for the Feast of St. Olympia

[Potsdam/Norwood, NY] - On Wednesday, March 29, His Eminence Archbishop Michael served the Liturgy of the Pre-Sanctified Gifts at Saint Olympia Mission in Potsdam/Norwood, New York. Two dozen members of the Mission community were in attendance. The musical responses were led by Dr. Jessica Suchy-Pilalis, the parish choir director and council president.

After the service, the parish hosted a Lenten dinner. His Eminence met with the parish council to review the progress of the mission and discuss their considerations for the future. Among those plans is a Pilgrimage to St. Olympia Mission, open to the clergy and the laity, on the Feast of Saint Olympia – Tuesday, July 25. The mission is the only parish in the U.S. named for Saint Olympia and is the northern-most parish of the Diocese of New York and New Jersey. They recently moved into their own church building and are eager for pilgrims to “come and see!”
